Really impressed with the way you've got on top of your blog and organised it recently, well done. Need to give you some feedback about your video as it stands, having had a heated debate about it with my wife and best friend (who is a record producer). Their thoughts were as follows: Many of the shots are incredible and they particularly liked the shots of Max, they thought he'd done you proud with the swagger and nonchalance in his performance. They loved the shots of the TV in remote locations and were very impressed technically. They had a problem with the narrative (which is what I've been saying!) saying there isn't enough of a link between the performance sequences and the dummy narrative. My mate though the dummy was supposed to be the lead singer (could this be an idea to develop?) They weren't keen on the shots of the dummy hanging, thought it was a bit heavy for the video, but if you want to keep this, they said it should lead to this rather than us seeing it at the start. As though the dummy is gradually getting more and more desperate... There are some problems with some of the performances such as the drummers very gentle drumming compared to the sound of the music. My wife thought the whole thing should be more 'energetic and glitchy' - she suggested running an old TV effect over more of it.
I recognise that reshooting the band sequence will be very tough so wondered if it was possible to use existing footage aiming to conceal moments that don't match up with the music. Any way these are just thoughts we can discuss it when we see each other next week.
